Every blend here started with one question: what do the birds outside a Canadian window actually eat? Chickadees and nuthatches want oil-rich sunflower. Juncos and sparrows feed low and prefer small seed. Jays will move a surprising quantity of peanuts if you let them.
So rather than one bag that tries to please everyone and ends up on the ground, each blend is matched to the birds it's for — and to our seasons, from February mornings at −30° to September migration traffic.

Questions from the backyard
What's the best blend for Canadian winters?
Anything sunflower-heavy. Add suet once temperatures drop — it's the highest-energy food you can offer.
How much seed should I put out?
Start with what disappears in a day or two. A busy winter feeder moves 1–2 kg a week; summer is slower.
Blend or single seed?
A blend widens the guest list. Single seed targets one species. Most yards end up running both.
