Refund policy
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase from Chirp & Maple, however, because wild bird food is a consumable product that comes into direct contact with wildlife and to comply with food safety and hygiene standards, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on any edible/feed products once they have left our facility—whether opened or unopened.
What Can Be Returned
We accept returns for non-food items under the following conditions:
- The item must be returned within 30 days of the original purchase/shipment date.
- The product must be unused, in its original packaging, and in resalable condition (including all tags, labels, and protective materials).
- You must provide proof of purchase (order number, receipt, or confirmation email).
- Shipping costs are non-refundable, and the customer is responsible for return shipping unless the return is due to our error (see below).
Exceptions – When We Will Issue a Refund or Replacement
We will provide a refund, replacement, or store credit (at our discretion) in these specific situations:
- Damaged or Defective Product If your order arrives damaged, broken, or with manufacturing defects, please contact us within 14 days of delivery with photos of the damage and your order number. We’ll arrange a replacement (if available) or full refund.
- Wrong Item or Order Error If we sent you the incorrect product, quantity, or item, notify us within 7 days of delivery. We’ll cover return shipping (provide a prepaid label when possible) and send the correct item or issue a full refund.
- Non-Food Items Only As noted above, returns are accepted for eligible non-food products within 30 days.
How to Initiate a Return or Request Assistance
- Contact us at contact@chirpandmaple.com with your order number and a brief description of the issue.
- For eligible non-food returns: We will provide instructions and (if applicable) a return shipping label.
- Do not ship items back without contacting us first, as unauthorized returns may not be processed.
Refund Processing
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
- Refunds typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your payment provider (some banks may take longer).
- Original shipping fees are non-refundable except in cases of our error (wrong item, damaged in transit, etc.).
- If a return results in a partial refund (e.g., promotional bundles), any promotional discounts may be adjusted accordingly.
Additional Notes
- We reserve the right to refuse returns or issue store credit only if an item shows signs of misuse, is missing parts, or falls outside our policy guidelines.
- Due to health and safety regulations, no returns, exchanges, or refunds will be accepted on any food products, including but not limited to seeds, mixes, nuts, dried fruits, suet cakes—even if unopened.
- This policy applies to purchases made directly through our website. Purchases from third-party retailers are subject to their individual return policies.
